Our Legacy

Our journey began in the early 19th century, when our grandfather began cultivating orchids and fruits in Kalimpong’s fertile valleys. His son, Late Debendra Kr. Pradhan, nurtured this legacy further under the banner The Himalayan Nursery, building a strong foundation in quality and trust.

A New Chapter Begins

In 1972, continuing this proud family tradition, Amar Jyoti Pradhan, the second son of Late Debendra Kr. Pradhan, established Popular Plant and Bulb Nursery. The focus expanded to the export of orchids and bulbs and the import of premium seeds from around the world. Over time, our expertise evolved into a passion for flowering bulbs and select ornamental plants, grown and supplied in collaboration with dedicated village growers.

Now, carrying this legacy forward and embracing the digital age, I, Amar Jyoti Pradhan, along with a dedicated and passionate team, have launched Popular Blooms — our online platform to bring our plants and bulbs directly to customers across India.

With decades of know-how and trusted relationships with local growers, we’re blending tradition with technology to make it easier for plant lovers nationwide to access the best of Kalimpong’s flora.
